icould for employees
When you were 16 getting ready to either leave school, choose A-levels
and possibly a degree subject, and being asked – “But what do you want to do?” -
don’t you wish there had been someone out there to tell you what it was really like
in the working world?
icould is your chance to help those looking to
start their working lives make sense of the same worries and fears you faced plus
a whole lot more.
By taking around an hour of your time – or encouraging your employees
to give their time – to talk to our specially trained story gathering team you can
help be part of the biggest careers resource of its kind.
icould is building a core of thousands of filmed
stories from people like you, and those who work for your company, talking about
how they got to the job they do.
So why not…
- tell young people what it’s really like to work in your industry and how great it
is to be part of your organisation
- take advantage of the films on your company’s website as well as investing in the
future of your industry by inspiring young people to join your profession
- help equip those wanting to start work with the skills they need for jumping into
the modern world of commerce
- show there is no set path to success – and that it’s ok to have a career history
full of twists and turns, right and wrong decisions
- be part of the biggest on-line independent careers resource available to young people.
All you have to do is tell your own story, in your own words, in
front of one of our cameras. We can do this at your place of work – employers are
very enthusiastic about icould and are happy to allow time and
space for you to tell your story – or at a small studio close to where you work
or live.
Story volunteers often say they enjoy and learn a lot from their
experience. You’ll get all the support you need from the icould
team, which is made up of a small film crew and an expert icould
story gatherer, trained to help you organise and present your thoughts. From start
to finish, the whole process takes no more than an hour. You won’t become famous
or rich. (icould is managed by CRAC: The Career Development Organisation,
which is a national charity. So we’re asking you to do this for free) But you will
be performing a really valuable service – one that could help a young person enormously.
